FOXCONN Unveils GeForce 8800GTX/GTS Graphics Cards

GPUs Nov 8,2006 0

FOXCONN retains its supremacy in graphics card design as it unveils the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-ODPCI Express graphics cards powered by the latest NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX and 8800GTS graphics processing unit (GPU). The flagship FV-N88XMAD2-OD features an invincible blend of specifications including 128 independent stream processors with shader clocks reaching 1.35 GHz, massive 768MB GDDR3 memory that interfaces with the GPU on a 384-bit bus and operating core and memory clock timings of 575 MHz and 1.8 GHz respectively. Closely trailing its big brother is the FV-N88SMBD2-OD model equipped with 96 stream processors pitched at 1.2 GHz, a blistering 640 MB GDDR3 memory in a 320-bit interface, and maximum 500 MHz core and 1.6 GHzmemory clocks. The 8800GTX/GTS family unleashes all the advanced visual computing potential for graphics enthusiasts, extreme gamers, and tech savvy adopters.

Key features:

> NVIDIA unified architecture with GigaThread TM technology

> Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 support

> NVIDIA SLI TM- Ready

> 16x full-screen anti-aliasing

> True 128-bit floating point high dynamic-range(HDR) lighting

> NVIDIA Quantum EffectsTM physics processing technology

> Two dual-link DVI outputs support two2560x1600 resolution displays

> NVIDIA PureVideoTM technology

> PCI Express Support

> OpenGL 2.0 support

> NVIDIA ForceWare Unified Driver Architecture (UDA)

> Built for Microsoft Windows VistaTM

Incorporating NVIDIA?s unified architecture technology, the GF8800GTX and GF8800GTS deliver unprecedented processing power, performance, and precision using a single shader core for geometry, vertex, physics, and pixel shading operations. Using scores of stream processors, these cards offer twice the gaming performance versus older version GPUs while keeping compatibility and optimization for DirectX 9 applications. The FOXCONN FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD adopt Microsoft DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0 to offer unmatched display realism and render real-life, high-definition graphics complete with film-quality effects. These innovations enable developers to add more elements to game applications, such as better shadowing for more realism, and also make these graphics cards Windows Vista ready, including the sophisticated Windows Aero user interface.

The FV-N88XMAD2-ODand FV-N88SMBD2-OD carry a stockpile of NVIDIA?s newest graphics support including GigaThread Technology, Lumenex engine, and Quantum Effects Technology. Operating with thousands of independent and parallel threads, GigaThread technology maximizes GPU utilization to achieve greater efficiency when processing next-generation shader programs. The FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD bring superior image quality, floating point accuracy, and faster frame rates than any other graphics card via the NVIDIA Lumenex engine. Lumenex boasts 16 times anti-aliasing power, 128-bit floating point HDR (high-dynamic range), and agile frame rates for high-definition gaming and movie playback at the highest resolutions currently available on graphics card the market.

Meeting the industry?s demand for physics effects, the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD come with NVIDIA Quantum Effects technology?a groundbreaking shader processor that delivers high-definition smoke, fire, or explosion effects and perfect fluid movements of game elements such as hair, fur, and water. This technology simulates and renders physics effects directly on the GPU, allowing the CPU to concentrate on the game engine and save precious processor energy. NVIDIA Quantum Effects technology does away with the need to purchase an additional physics processing card.

The FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBAD2-OD also promote fast connectivity, flexibility, and robust control over multiple displays using the straightforward NVIDIA nView Multi-Display Technology. Designed with two dual-link DVI connectors and HDTV-ready interface, the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD natively support two 2560 x 1600 resolution displays and support a variety of display devices including HDTVs, wide LCD monitors, and plasma displays.

For the multitude of games and graphics applications hitting the shelves everyday, the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-ODcards come with unique blue LED design, it is good for extreme gamer playing in LAN party.

The FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD deliver twice the upstream and downstream bandwidth of AGP 8X. These cards also support OpenGL 2.0 for compatibility with earlier OpenGL applications. The FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD deploy a full suite of NVIDIA PureVideo Technology?an intelligent union of high-definition video decode acceleration and post-processing that brings unprecedented picture clarity, the smoothest video playback, accurate colors, and precise image scaling. PureVideo magnifies movie imagery up to six times the standard of DVD movies and provides outstanding TV-out functionality with high-definition resolutions. Certified NVIDIA SLI-ready, the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD also satisfy the craving for the highest levels of graphics performance for multi-GPU setups.

Making sure you enjoy the FV-N88XMAD2-OD and FV-N88SMBD2-OD out-of-the-box, FOXCONN bundled the powerful RestoreIT backup/recovery utility, VirtualDrivePro accelerator software, and a USB game pad in every card package. The card package also includes a DVI-to-VGA adapter and an HDTV cable for quick connection to a display. Look for the exciting GF8800GTX and GF8800GTS graphics cards in all Foxconn sales channels now.
