Imation Brings HD DVD Media to Business Market
Imation on Monday announced the availability of its first recordable HD DVD media.
Available in single-layer, Imation HD DVD can store up to 15GB of digital files -- three times the capacity of standard DVDs
Imation's release of HD DVD comes at a time when businesses are producing more data than ever before. Data storage requirements are expected to triple by the end of the decade with email proliferation, more stringent compliance requirements and as businesses continue to produce more multi-media content that needs to be stored in a digital environment.
Imation's high-definition recordable media offer supreme quality and are an ideal and efficient backup and archive solution for organizations of all sizes with high-capacity data storage needs. HD DVD discs also allow for recording of high-definition television and video content.
Imation HD DVD media, similar to Imation Blu-ray discs, are produced with a protective coating that provides scratch-resistance, anti-static dust resistance, and smear-resistance. Imation will also manufacture double-layer HD DVD in 2007, delivering 30 GB of capacity on a single disc.
Individually packaged Imation HD DVD recordable single layer discs are now available for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $19.99.
