Iomega goes to Taiwan
Iomega Corporation announced the opening of a new International Procurement Office (IPO) in Taipei, Taiwan.
"Iomega is reinforcing its ties with suppliers and channel partners in the Asia-Pacific region," said Sean Burke, vice president and general manager, mobile and desktop solutions, Iomega Corporation. "Our new IPO organization will allow us to be better connected to Asia's high-tech leaders and coordinate with them on emerging product trends. Our goal is to bring the newest portable storage products to market in a timely and efficient process."
The Taiwan location of Iomega's new IPO organization puts Iomega near many of its key suppliers, enabling closer coordination, improved efficiency and reduced time to market. The new office also reflects Iomega's continuing commitment to growth in product lines such as external hard drives, flash memory drives, CD-RW Drives, DVD burners and network attached storage (NAS) servers, which are sourced through original equipment manufacturers. Key Iomega suppliers in the Taiwan area include LiteOn, BTC, DoTop, Argosy, LGE, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Venture Manufacturing and Wistron.
