LG Display To Develop Foldable OLEDs For Apple, Google
LG Display has partnered up with Apple, Microsoft and Google To develop "out-foldable" displays for smartphones.
The South Korean company will start mass-producing foldable OLEDs in 2018 and will supply them to Apple, Google, and Microsoft, Korean Electronic Times reports.
LG Display will compete with Samsung Display in the market of foldable displays.
LG Display has already developed a prototype of an out-foldable panel and it is heard that the technical level of this prototype is high.
Apple holds many patents related to foldable devices. It is predicted that Apple will introduce iPhones in order to compete with Samsung Electronics.
