South Korea's LG Electronics has announced the latest model of its MiniBeam family of portable projectors. The MiniBeam PF 1000U can present images on the equivalent of a 100-inch screen from just 38cm away.
That distance is just one-tenth that required with conventional projection systems and makes the mirror-based projector perfect for small rooms and situations where people moving around might otherwise block the screen.
The MiniBeam PF 1000U is compact in size and and weighs just 1.9kg. It can connect with smartphones and computers via a cable or wirelessly, and it can also project content from a USB flash drive.
The PF 1000U is currently available in South Korea for 1.59 million won ($1,342) and will later market the projector in North America, Central and South America, and Europe.
