MediaTek Announces MT8127 SoC For Mid-range Tablets
MediaTek's new MT8127 is quad-core tablet System on Chip (SoC) that offers full hardware support for the new HEVC (H.265) video playback standard.
Powered by an ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor, with a clock rate of 1.5GHz, and a quad-core ARM Mali-450 MP4 GPU, MediaTek's MT8127 delivers low-power, Full HD 1080p video playback and recording, and a 13MP camera. It offers integrating support for MediaTek's connectivity solutions including Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, FM receiver and GPS. The SoC also supports Wi-Fi certified Miracast and NFC.
MediaTek's MT8127 SoC will power ALCATEL ONETOUCH's PIXI 8 tablet, which will be launched later this year.
MediaTek chairman and CEO, Mr. Ming-Kai Tsai will outline the company's vision for the future of the Internet of Things and Cloud 2.0 in a kynote speech at COMPUTEX Taipei 2014.
At the show, MediaTek will be showcasing its 4G LTE solutions for the first time, including the first LTE multimode MT6290, which was fully tested and certified for China Mobile's network a month ago. In addition, MediaTek will start mass producing the first true octa-core 4G LTE System on Chip (SoC) MT6595 in the third quarter of this year.
