This Is The New Samsung Galaxy S6
T-Mobile is teasing with a photo of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone posted on the T-Mobile website. In the page, the image reveals a metal, curved smartphone.
According to what we know so far, Samsung's new flagship device will include a model with a curved, edge-to-edge AMOLED display, and aluminum is expected to replace the plastic body of previous models. The curves will offer space that can be used for showing things such as video or music playback controls or files, documents or apps that are also open and which can be toggled between.
Another possibility is that Samsung will launch two different S6 models -- one with the standard front-facing display and a second with the three-sided display.
Other information suggests the handset will be faster and more powerful than an Apple iPad Air 2 and have a 5.1-inch display with a resolution close to UHD, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera.
There are rumors that most of the 'bloatware' will be missing from this new handset and that it will have been replaced by a number of Microsoft apps, instead. On the oterh hand, it is almost certain is that the handset will come with a digital wallet and wireless payments service that will attempt to do battle with Apple's ApplePay system.
The Galaxy S6 is also expected to support wireless charging straight out of the box and work with different types of wireless chargers that until now have worked on different, incompatible technological standards.
Samsung is to reveal the Galaxy S6 on March 1.
