Nintendo NX To Have VR Support
Nintendo has reportdely pushed back the production of its next-generation game console, the Nintendo NX, as the Jap[anese company wanted to enhance the game console's video-game and handheld-game-integrated gaming experience and add virtual reality (VR) function. Nintendo originally planned to bring the NX to mass production this year, but now the system will be enter mass production in early 2017, Digitimes.com reports, citing sources from the related upstream supply chain in Taiwan.
The Nintendo NX will be assembled by Foxconn Electronics, aand other Taiwan-based component suppliers include Macronix International, Pixart Imaging and Delta Electronics.
Foxconn declined to provide any comment.
The Nintendo NX is said to offer a video gaming experience connected to a TV set as traditional gaming systems do, along with support for mobile games, taking advantage of its 5- to 7-inch display, controller and joystick.
Nintendo is also planning to add VR function to the device in order to stay competitive in the gaming market.
