Nokia Lumia 820 And 920 Windows Phone Priced Aggressively To Undercut Rivals

Nokia Lumia 820 And 920 Windows Phone Priced Aggressively To Undercut Rivals

Smartphones Nov 6,2012 0

AT&T has set a $50 starting price for Nokia's latest Windows smartphones, with struggling Nokia to hope for a turnaround. AT&T said on Tuesday that it will sell the Nokia Lumia 820 for $49.99 and the flagship Lumia 920 phone for $99.99 compared with its $199.99 pricing for the HTC Windows Phone 8X device.

Nokia's future depends on the sales of its new Windows-based smartphones, and it seems that volumes are more important to the company than profits as it is hoping to re-build a U.S. customer based.

AT&T is also offering a free wireless charging dock with the purchase of the Lumia 920.

The prices are for customers who sign a two-year wireless contract with AT&T. The phones are available beginning November 9.

The Nokia Lumia 920 brings a lot to the table, starting with Nokia's PureView imaging technology and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for clear photos. Also, the PureView camera on the Lumia 920 has been optimized to takes bright photos in low-light indoor conditions.

Nokia City Lens, the latest addition to Nokia's suite of location apps, brings augmented reality to the Lumia 920. With Nokia City Lens you can use your smartphone to see inside the world around you and locate local facilities with ease.

The Nokia Lumia 920 has wireless charging built in, making it possible to charge up quickly and easily. Also, with cold temperatures about to set in, the sensitive 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display will come in handy - allowing you to use the touch screen even with gloves on.

The Lumia 820 makes it possible to use interchangeable shells and also supports wireless charging via the charging shell.

You can add extra storage to the Nokia Lumia 820 via a Micro SD card, which comes in sizes up to 32 gigabytes.
