Nvidia to Use Samsung's 7nm EUV process For Next-Gen Ampere GPUs: report
Nvidia's next generation Ampere GPUs, slated for launch in 2020, will be manufactured using Samsung's 7nm EUV process technology, according to market sources in Taiwan.
Digitimes reports Samsung's foundry will build Nvidia's new GPUs, using a 7-nanometer process, which is expected to partially take advantage of EUV. Samsung is rumored to have invested more in EUV machines compared to TSMC.
TSMC has been Nvidia's biggest partner, but we could assume that TSMC may not be able to supply 7nm EUV chips to Nvidia due to limited production capacity.
Meanwhile, Nvidia is set to announce a new linep of graphics cards based on a refreshed Turing architecture soon.
