Pioneer BDR-XS07B-UHD Portable UHD BD Drive Comes With a USB 3.1 Type-C Interface

Pioneer announced the BDR-XS07B-UHD, a premium, slot-loading UHD burner that supports playback of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray content and reproduction of audio without using a PC.

Available later this month on in Japan, the BDR-XS07B-UHD is expected to be priced at 25,000 yen ($227).

The drive is equipped with USB 3.1 Gen 1 compliant Type-C connector and also comes bundled with two USB Type-C power supply compatible cables.

You can connect your Android device to the drive through the USB cable and directly transfer or play audio CDs to your device without going through a PC. The Android device should have the "New Music App Wireless Hi-Res Player ~Stellanova~" music application installed. And if the Android device is connected to the inetrnet, it can automatically download inforamtion about the music though the Gracenote MusicID service. In order to operate as a standlone device connected to an Android device, the BDR-XS07B-UHD should be powered by an AC power adapter (sold seperately.)

Connected to your PC, the BDR-XS07B-UHD supports playback of UHD Blu-ray discs using the included PowerDVD 14 software.

In terms of design, the BD burner can be installed both vertically and horizontially. Its size is 135 × 135 × 18 mm (W × D × H) and weighs 280g.

Pioneer has included some its signature features to this slot-loading drive, such as the "PureRead4 +" function for reading scratched audio CDs, along with the "RealTime PureRead" for more accurate playback of audio CDs.

In terns of performance, the BDR-XS07B-UHD supports the following speeds:
