Plasmon to exhibit UDO at Technology for Compliance 2005
Plasmon announced that it will exhibit UDO (Ultra Density Optical) enabled products, including the UDO Desktop Drive and G-Series libraries Powered by UDO at Technology for Compliance 2005, stand 912, being held from 16th, 17th March 2005.
"Technology for Compliance 2005 is the perfect place to exhibit our UDO products. With so many regulations on record retention and admissibility in the corporate governance landscape, companies need to be sure that their storage solutions comply," explains Steve Tongish, director of marketing for EMEA at Plasmon. "UDO provides the ideal archival solution to help enterprises conform with data storage regulations. As UDO was designed specifically to meet the unique demands of professional storage environments, it is no surprise that it delivers all the attributes fundamental to a secure and reliable long-term data archive."
The new UDO Desktop Drive provides compliant, high capacity and cost-effective archival storage for departmental and small office environments. G-Series libraries Powered by UDO offer a comprehensive capacity range from 720GB to over 19TB, designed to accommodate entry level to enterprise archival storage requirements. The UDO Desktop Drive and G-Series libraries support both true Write Once and Rewritable UDO media formats. 30GB UDO media is the first generation of high density, blue laser optical technology and has been specifically designed for compliant long-term storage of valuable business information such as high volume emails and document images, customer records, audio or video files, financial information and design documentation.
Craig Hatter, director of sales at Plasmon, will be presenting a seminar on data archiving and regulations on Thursday at 3.30pm, Theatre 4. The "Archival Storage Challenge" session will examine key national and international regulations on record retention and admissibility, driving organisations to look for trustworthy data archive solutions and propose a general framework for financially assessing different archival storage strategies.
