Firmware 1c04 beta - Page 1

After the end of our tests, a new firmware version was released, not a stable release but a beta, v1c04. This is mainly the reason why we didn't include it in our review. This firmware adds 2X DVD-R DL writing and 6X for the DVD+R DL. Also, we managed to confirm 8X for DVD+RW.

However, with this firmware, SecureRecording, GigaRec and VariRec ( should use only for DVD) are not working.

We used Nero CD-DVD Speed's "Create Disc" function, in order to confirm the 6X DVD+R DL and 8X DVD+RW recording strategies. Click on the images below for the full CDSpeed screenshots. Then, we measured the writing quality for both burned media, using the same drive for the scans.
