Samsung TVs get HDR10 Plus Supported Content
Samsung Electronics America today announced that Samsung TVs will be the first to support HDR10+ content across Disney+ and Hulu titles. HDR10+ enables an even more immersive viewing experience, with dynamic contrast, richer colors and enhanced picture quality that bring your favorite content to life.
“HDR10+ revolutionizes the way we enjoy content, offering enhanced contrast and more vivid colors for an unparalleled viewing experience,” stated Inbeom Kim, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are delighted to introduce this technology onto Disney+ and remain committed to collaborating with various partners to broaden HDR10+ support across our product range and the wider streaming landscape.”
HDR10+ is a next-generation high dynamic range (HDR) technology. It uses dynamic metadata to optimize visuals scene-by-scene, while reacting in real-time to the ambient lighting in your space. By dynamically adjusting brightness and contrast, HDR10+ ensures every frame is displayed with exceptional clarity that stays true to the creator’s intent.
With this announcement, Disney+ joins a growing number of major streaming services to support HDR10+ content, bringing enhanced realism and depth to more viewers than ever before. Beginning today, Disney+ will offer access to over 1,000 Hulu titles in HDR10+ within the Disney+ app, with additional Disney+ and Hulu content coming in the future.
HDR10+ content on Disney+ will be accessible via Samsung Crystal UHD TVs and above, from 2018 onward, as well as select Samsung Smart Monitors. That includes the latest 2025 Samsung screens across Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED, The Frame Pro, The Frame, QLED and most recently, Samsung Micro RGB – the first TV to cover 100% of the UHD spectrum with 100% accuracy[1].
In addition to HDR10+ support, each of these TV models integrate Samsung Vision AI to not only improve picture and sound as you watch, but introduce new experiences that make TV viewing more personal and intuitive. Central to this experience is the new Samsung Vision AI Companion[2] which integrates advanced AI features all in one place. This includes the ability to ask your TV anything, translate closed captions in real-time[3] and much more.
