<p>Sea Sonic has become the first manufacturer to earn <a href="https://www.clearesult.com/80plus/80plus-psu-ratings-explained" target="_blank">80 PLUS® Ruby certification</a> for an ATX power supply tested at 115 V.</p>
<p>The Seasonic <a href="https://www.clearesult.com/80plus/certified-psus/Sea-Sonic-Electronics-C... target="_blank">PRIME ENTERPRISE RX-1600</a>, a high-wattage ATX power supply designed for demanding desktop, workstation, and AI systems, meets the program&rsquo;s highest efficiency tier.</p>
<p>Sea Sonic has a long history of firsts in the 80 PLUS® program. In 2005, Sea Sonic became the first power supply manufacturer to certify products under the program&rsquo;s rigorous criteria with the Seasonic SS-400HT, and the first to bring a complete family of four certified products to market that same year. In 2008, Sea Sonic was again the first to achieve 80 PLUS® Gold certification. The Ruby milestone continues that legacy.</p>

<p>The inclusion of 5% and 10% load points is significant. Power supplies must now demonstrate efficiency not only at medium and high loads, but also when the system is largely idle — which is where many systems operate most of the time.</p>
<p>Meeting these targets requires advances across the full platform, including switching control, thermal design, component selection, and validation. Modern desktop systems, workstations, and AI-oriented configurations place sudden, high-amplitude load swings on the power supply. Higher conversion efficiency reduces energy lost as heat and reduces cooling requirements — an advantage that becomes increasingly important in denser, large-scale installations.</p>
