Singulus Technologies Introduces SPACELINE II HD

Singulus Technologies Introduces SPACELINE II HD

Optical Storage May 12,2005 0

Singulus Technologies introduced its "Push Button" SPACELINE II HD solution for production of DVD-ROM discs at the Media-Tech Expo 2005. The new disc pressing equipment, introduced at Media-Tech Expo 2005 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Convention Center (Singulus Booth 9022) embodies the latest level of development of the Singulus SPACELINE series, which has become the benchmark production system for the production of DVD ROM formats.

The SPACELINE II HD is characterized by a reduction of the cycle time for DVD production, as well as by the ability to switch from Blu-ray production requirements to the new High Density Format HD DVD with the mere push of a button. HD DVD and Blu-ray are the two major DVD formats for High Definition Television .

"With this novel concept SINGULUS enables its customers to react flexibly and without any loss of productivity to particular market demands," according to Roland Lacher, CEO of Singulus Technologies.

"With the SPACELINE II HD our customers are able to choose between either the production of DVD or HD DVD just by interchanging the stamper. This new machine not only provides a cost-efficient solution for DVD production but is also unrivaled in terms of reliability as well as the yield of discs," said Mr. Lacher.

A significant element in the development of the SPACELINE II HD is the strategic partnership between Singulus and its long-time customer, Memory-Tech of Japan, which in collaboration with the format developer Toshiba, has built up substantial expertise in the HD DVD manufacturing and will bring that knowledge into the partnership.
