Imation has released two new optical disc archiving products compatible with Sony's XDCAM professional systems. Available under the "TDK Life on Record" brand, the new Professional Discs are taking advantage of the Blu-ray disc technology to deliver capacities of up to 50GB (double layer) and recording speeds of up to 4X. The rewritable discs come protected in cartridges and are currently available in Japan.
