Valve Teases With New Valve Index VR Headset
Valve on Friday launched on its website a teaser site featuring a new virtual reality headset, called the Valve Index.
The teaser offers no information other than that the Index’s supposed release date is May 2019.
After allying with HTC to launch the Vive as a SteamVR in 2016 it seems that Valve is moving ahead to launch its own headset.
Hints of the device have appeared with trademark filings and even a logo, but we don't even know if it will use the "Knuckles" finger tracking controllers we've seen from Valve a few times over the years.
The image shows what it could assumed to be a device with at least two sensors. A physical slider could likely linked to interpupillary distance (IPD), a precise measurement needed to ensure VR comfort.
