Intel Showcases New Haswell Motherboards For NUC

Intel's "Next Unit of Computing" (NUC) devices will be supported by the new Haswell processors, and UIntel showcased a compatible motherboards at Computex. Two versions of the NUC will be offered, one based on a Core i5-4250U and another will come with a Core i3-4010U processor.

The "D54250WYB" NUC motherboard featured a Core i5-4250U "Haswell" processor (dual-core) clocked at 1.3GHz and reaching the 2.6GHz with turbo boost. The chip also packs the Intel HD Graphics 5000 GPU.



The board had dual SO-DIMM slots for main memory, two PCIe Mini slots, a SATA power supply connector and SATA connectors. I/O options included Gigabit Ethernet, 2x U.S.B 3.0 ports, a Mini HDMI, a Mini DisplayPort and a headphone jack.

The new motherboards are scheduled for release during the the third quarter.
