Vizio Announces 120-inch Ultra HD TV At CES
Vizio on Monday announced the largest Ultra HD TV yet - the 120-inch Reference Series Ultra HD LED Smart TV.
The set is more than 6 feet high, is nearly 9 feet wide and weighs more than 100 pounds.
Available late rthis year, the Ultra HD TV has four times the resolution of standard HD TVs. It comes with "high dynamic range" technology that improves the brightness and contrast of the picture, giving it better color accuracy than other Ultra HD TVs. It also features an 800 nit bright backlight and 384 Active LED Zones for high contrast, Ultra-Color Spectrum with full support for true 10-bit color and a Spatial Scaling Engine for transformation of 1080p Full HD content.
Optimized for Ultra-HD streaming, the Reference Series is equipped with 802.11ac dual-band MIMO wireless. It supports the HEVC codec and HDCP 2.2 Security Protocol allows for protected playback via HDMI from Ultra HD players and next-generation game consoles.
Underneath the hood, the Reference Series is powered by the new V6 six-core processor, comprised of a quad-core GPU plus dual-core CPU.
The performance of the Reference Series also makes available two viewing modes: High Velocity Mode which enables the TV to display a 120 frames per second over HDMI, and Pure Cinema Engine, which presents films in their native 24 or 48 fps.
An integrated 5.1 sound bar with 101 dB and less than 1% total harmonic distortion combined with a 10" wireless subwoofer and two rear satellite speakers, ensure high quality sound.
VIZIO also announced at CES its new P-Series Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TV collection.
The VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD Full-Array LED Smart TV collection is featuring 50", 55", 60", 65"and 70" screen sizes. It offers Full-Array LED backlighting and advanced local dimming technology with 64 Active LED Zones. Vizio says more zones allow for discrete control of the backlight resulting in improved contrast.
Sports fans or action enthusiasts will appreciate Clear Action Rate 960 which is measured using high-speed effective refresh rates and precise synchronization of backlight scanning to enhance motion clarity. The Pure Pixel Processing Engine further enhances sharp detai.
