Qualcomm in Talks to Buy NXP
Qualcomm is in talks to buy NXP Semiconductors NV in a deal that could be valued at more than $30 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported. An agreement could be struck in the next two to three months, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
NXP and San Diego-based Qualcomm said separately that they did not comment on rumors or speculation.
NXP, formerly Philips Semiconductor, ranks among the world’s top 10 semiconductor companies.
The company closed a nearly $12 billion deal to buy U.S.-based Freescale Semiconductor last December to create the world's top maker of automotive electronics.
