Apple to Fix Watch Series 3 Battery and LTE Connectivity Issues
Apple's new Series 3 smartwatch starts shipping this Friday but the company has already hit with issues related to its LTE connectivity capabilities - the gadget's most important feature.
Wth the new smartwatch, it's finally possible to make a call without having your iPhone nearbyalthough there's the slight dampener that the watch does not support roaming.
However, Apple plans to release a software update for the new device in order to fix connectivity issues to cellular, as the device is seeking for WiFi networks instead.
Speaking to The Verge, Apple said the following:
"We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular. We are investigating a fix for a future software release."
The first reviews of the Apple Watch Series 3 are generally positive, although they highlight a shorter than expected battery life. Apple claims an all day battery life for the new device, but if you use GPS or make calls, the battery takes an important hit.
Unfortunately, we don't know when a software update is expected.
