Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Coming Early at the end Of August
Samsung Electronics is said to unveil the new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone earlier than previous years, in an Aug. 9 event in New York.
Bloomberg unveiled the event date, which agrees with a previous report from the Korean Herald, claiming that the launch of the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone will be in August rather than September, which has been the company's choice in previous years.
According to Bloomberg, the new smartphone will feature an upgraded camera along with an upgraded processor from Qualcomm (in some markets), and will not look very different compared to last year's model.
Samsung's "Unpacked" event is said to be held in New York.
Samsung declined to comment about the event.
Earlier this year, Samsung released the Galaxy S9 phone with an upgraded camera, which has been well received by consumers.
Later this year, rival Apple plans to launch its biggest smartphone yet, a model with an almost 6.5-inch screen that looks like a bigger iPhone X.
Samsung is also working on a smart speaker coupled with its digital assistant Bixby, taking on Amazon.com Inc.'s Echo line of devices and Apple's HomePod.
Along with the predictions about the early launch of the Note 9, rumors are circulating that Samsung is preparing to announce the Galaxy S10 at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 in January, while using the Mobile World Congress 2019 in February to unveil its first foldable smartphone.
Codenamed as 'Beyond,' the 10th edition of Galaxy S series could adopt various new technologies such as in-display fingerprint sensing.
