Computers with counterfeit Windows XP vulnerable against viruses and hackers
BBC published an article notifying that people using pirated copies of Windows XP will get no help from Microsoft to make their PC safer. According to Microsoft the Service Pack2 update for XP will not work with the most widely pirated versions of Windows XP.
Having that SP2 closes security loopholes in XP and adds and keep machines safer from viruses, many computers using XP will be helpless against viruses.
Computers with pirated version of Win XP will also be defenseless against hackers since SP2 include many features that make firewalls better. SP2 also forces users to make explicit choices about how secure they want their PC to be.
Other features include a blocker for adverts that pop-up when people browse the web and background utilities that warn when spyware is trying to install itself on their machine.
