Although the GeForce 6150 and nForce 430 chipsets for AMD processors launched late last year it has taken the board manufacturers a little while to get retail products out on the market. Part of this was because of some early issues with the platform, but these all seem to have been resolved by now. The first board to arrive here at TrustedReviews is the Asus A8N-VM CSM. This is a micro-ATX board, which gives you an idea about the intended market for this board...

The Asus Extreme N7800GT Dual is a truly over the top piece of engineering. It makes little sense financially, and it only outperforms two regular 7800 GT cards if you overclock it, but by offering a quieter SLI life and the chance to own a limited edition, the Extreme N7800GT Dual will have its admirers and find its niche...

ASUSTeK, in preparation for the release, had quietly shipped in a Napa-powered laptop to HEXUS. The medium-sized ASUS A6JA packed in an Intel Centrino Duo T2500 CPU (Yonah core), a ATI Radeon X1600 PCIe GPU, and an array of other tasty componentry in a laptop that weighed in at under 3kg and sported a 15.4-inch wide-aspect display. Read on to find out what we thought of dual-core CPUs on the go...

Overall the A8R-MVP proved to be a solid motherboard and it shows that CrossFire might finally be ready to compete with SLI as a dual-graphics card solution. It's not the feature richest board on the market, but considering the price it's still good value for money...

Overall, I am very impressed by the EN7800GT DUAL and have not had as much fun gaming in a long while; I can truly say that SLi makes a massive difference to some of the latest titles available such as F.E.A.R and Call Of Duty 2 and some of the Next-Gen GFX effects are outstanding. However, I think the EN7800GT DUAL excels most in its ability to manage high resolutions without having major FPS drop, you can boost all of your older games past the 1600x1280 without having much of a problem and that is with restricted CPU's so I dread to think what it is capable of when running along side and FX-64. I would say the only down side is the price but when you consider the cost of buying two high end 7800s I think the EN7800GT DUAL is very cost effective and in the long run could save you money...

ASUS's Extreme N7800 GT 256MB high-end graphics card features a different cooler and some slight changes to the reference design. Do these changes work the way they were intended? Read on to find out if ASUS has made the right choices...

The ASUS A8N32-SLI is a fantastically stable motherboard, much like any other ASUS motherboard we've had the pleasure of using. In general, it was no slower than the DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR, and it was faster than it in some instances - like Doom 3. While NVIDIA's nForce4 SLI x16 chipset doesn't bring performance on leaps and bounds, we feel it is one for the future with plenty of performance left to unlock. Right now, two PCI-Express x16 slots are generally not needed and provide little or no performance improvement over the standard nForce4 SLI chipset. They may be required in the future, though...

Asus has been making laptops for several years now but only recently have its laptops have been sold under the Asus brand in this part of the world. The quality has also improved significantly over the years and the latest models can be compared with some of the more well known brand names. The A6Km-Q002H incorporates a lot of technology at an affordable price point, but can it compete with the big brand names?

The Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard looks like the perfect workstation/HTPC motherboard at first glance; onboard graphics with analog and DVI-D monitor outputs, and nVidia PureVideo High Definition MPEG-2/WMV9 Playback acceleration. The A8N-VM CSM supports all Socket 939 AMD Athlon64/FX/X2 processors on the market, and is built around two recent nVidia chipsets, the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 & nForce 430. Onboard features include IEEE 1394a, a 5.1 channel HDA (Azalia)/AC97 audio controller, Gigabit LAN and of course analog and DVI-D Geforce 6-series onboard video. Expansion is possible through PCI Express x16 and PCI Express x1 slots for high bandwidth devices and two 32 bit PCI slots for legacy devices...

Asus is once again ahead of the competition and is the first company out with a dual x16 SLI motherboard. The A8N32-SLI Deluxe is one of the first motherboards with two PCI Express graphics card slots that offer the full bandwidth of 16 lanes to each slot. Rather than releasing a new chipset altogether nVidia made a 16 lane PCI Express controller called the SPP 100...

One example of what the GeForce 7800GT is capable of is Asus' EN7800GT 2DHTV/256M/OSP/A PCI Express x16 videocard. Built with the massive 320 million transistor GeForce 7800GT 'G70' core, the Asus EN7800GT packs in 256MB of GDDR3 memory. The card supports nVidia's Scalable Link Interface (SLI) for dual videocard gaming like all current generation nVIDIA parts. The bright blue videocard incorporates twin DVI connectors so users can attach digital LCD displays. Component output (HDTV, Y, Pb, Pr) and S-Video output comes standard via a breakout-box. The software package includes a couple of games and some multimedia applications...

ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silencer 256MB is another quality product from ASUS, from the impressive build and finish of the card itself, to the generous number of applications and games. The premium price too is arguably another ASUS characteristic. From what we have gathered, the ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silencer 256MB will set you back by an estimated US$180, which makes it roughly US$50 higher than the more common, 128MB versions. It even encroaches into the price range of the better GeForce 6800 card. This difference will probably go towards the better bundle, the extra memory and of course, the innovative silent cooler, which feels heavy in both weight and price...

The Asus EN6600GT Silencer offers users an excellent mix of performance from its GeForce 6600GT core and silent operation thanks to its passive heatpipe cooler. The videocard is based on the GeForce 6600GT core and is backed by 256MB of DDR3 memory. The card sports dual output with a pair of DVI/analog connectors. There is also a DVI to analog converter in the package for dual monitor users...

This board is really very impressive. It's comprehensively featured, well laid out and it's fast. It also felt like a well built, solid board. It's pretty good value, too. It makes sense then to buy this board. The DFI is too flashy, not as fast inherently nosier and not even cheaper. If you're going SLI you might as well do it in style. In that regard you can't do better right now than the Asus A8N-SLI Premium...

The ASUS 7800GTX TOP runs at a default core speed of 486MHz and memory speed of 1.35GHz which is 56MHz higher than the reference 7800GTX in core and 150MHz (DDR) in memory. Think of the ASUS 7800GTX TOP as an "Ultra" version of the 7800GTX...
