The successor to the hardy GeForce 6600 GT has finally dawned upon us and it's none other than the GeForce 7600 GT. ASUS scrambled their EN7600GT to our test labs and we put it through its paces to find out what surprises the GeForce 7600 GT has in store for you...

Can the newly established GeForce 7900 GTX reclaim NVIDIA's lost performance crown of graphics cards from the Radeon X1900 XTX? You'll find that out and more as we dwell into the ASUS EN7900GTX offering...

The GeForce 7900 GT has been slated by NVIDIA internally to compete with ATI's Radeon X1800 XL and with the new price cuts, they are in the exact same price bracket. However, the Radeon X1800 XL is only marginally better than the older GeForce 7800 GT, which in itself is trailing the new GeForce 7900 GT by 20% to 30%. With this performance rift alone, it is clear the GeForce 7900 GT is an undisputed winner. The Radeon X1800 XT with its higher price tag and better performance may pose some competition to the GeForce 7900 GT, but for the most part of it, we believe that the GeForce 7900 GT is a better all rounder in performance, noise/heat output, power consumed, footprint required and even price...

The Asus Star Ice is the companies first venture into the realm of commercial heatsinks, and it certainly captures attention for its appearance. Looking vaguely like a jet engine, the top of the Star Ice is decorated with a clear plastic window with a big bright ASUS logo illuminated by two small blue LED's. Hidden behind the outwardly aerodynamic appearance is a stacked array of many copper fins, pierced in six places by three copper heatpipes which connect to a thin copper base. But sometimes motherboard manufacturers should just stick to what they do best, motherboards...

At £135.11, the A8R32-MVP is almost double the price of the A8R-MVP. Ignoring performance difference, this brings slightly better audio, two more SATA II channels and considerably better overclocking potential. Whether you consider those benefits enough to justify the extra cost is a matter of personal choice and will ultimately depend on how important overclocking is to you...

ASUS once again did a mighty fine job of making a motherboard. Simply put, the P5WD2-E is amongst the best motherboard for the Intel platform in recent times. It offers excellent stability and overclocking options and we had no problems stretching the CPU to its limits. The feature set is also great with dual Gigabit LAN and 10+ storage devices as well as dual video support including CrossFire technology. We do think that that ASUS should?ve added or bundled WiFi with this board as well. However, that doesnt prevent us from presenting with board with our Recommended Product status...

Asus have really pulled all the stops out on this card. The included software and hardware is untouchable, with a non-standard cooler, game pad, and several game titles. The pre-clocked card at a whopping 700MHz core and 1600MHz memory really does a great job with all current games...

Well when it comes to noise silent says it all. Nary a peep from this card thanks to the passive solution. Heat on the other hand is something that this card does have. While idling on our open test bench it maintained 55-56 degrees Celsius. This is about 10 degrees warmer than an actively cooled 6600GT with 128MB of memory. Once 3d applications start running, the heat quickly rises reaching as high as 90 degrees Celsius...

Motherboard's are the backbone of any PC system and they're required to be rock solid and able to handle just about any hardware installed without kicking up too much of a fuss. The ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe is a prime example of a motherboard built with this in mind. Many manufacturers try to woo consumers with the focus on peripheral features and extravagant (and sometimes unnecessary) designs, but this isn't the case with the A8N32-SLI Deluxe. While ASUS is just as guilty for pimping their AiLife range of technologies, they created a motherboard that really focuses on addressing the three main concerns of all high-end computing users: power consumption, heat and noise...

If you really need the comfort of a retail box and don't already have a software suite, the Asus DRW-1608P makes a good case for itself. It's just a shame about the poor dual layer DVD+R performance - if it wasn't for that small hiccup Asus would be walking away with a Recommended award...

Most of us probably didn't have high hopes for the new GeForce 7300 GS. After all, NVIDIA crippled it by giving it a narrow 64-bits memory bus. The card actually has a lower memory bandwidth than the old GeForce 6200! But the new ASUS Extreme N7300GS surprised us by performing better than expected. With the exception of its exceptionally poor performance in Half Life 2, it consistently performed much better than the ATI Radeon X300. Generally, it was 50% to twice as fast as the X300. It performed best in Doom 3 where it achieved a respectable 47.6 fps and was twice as fast as the X300...

The Asus EN7800GT Top Silent is a great graphics card for anoyone looking for good performance without the added noise that's usually associated with it. There is a price premium to pay and as you can get a 7800GTX for the same money, which would offer more performance, but Asus is still likely to entice many buyers to this passively cooled card...

Asus delivers a well built router with a good range of features and security options for wired and wireless connections but wireless speeds won't be worrying MIMO equipped routers and you'll need to factor in the cost of a broadband modem...

The first in our ongoing series of ATI Radeon X1800 XT reviews, the ASUS EAX1800XT TOP is also quite a different animal. Overclocked by default, it is one of the fastest Radeon X1800 XT cards and as we found out, one of the quietest and the coolest. Read on as we examine the latest from ASUS' TOP lineup...

The EAX1800XT TOP is a fast, quiet graphics card with a great bundle, but ASUS are pricing it out of its own market with it costing £100 more than XTs from other AIBs. The bundle and performance aren't worth it at the time of writing, versus the cost of a bare board with reference clocks from another AIB, with the user having a stab at overclocking themselves if they wish...
