The GeForce 7900 GT has been slated by NVIDIA internally to compete with ATI's Radeon X1800 XL and with the new price cuts, they are in the exact same price bracket. However, the Radeon X1800 XL is only marginally better than the older GeForce 7800 GT, which in itself is trailing the new GeForce 7900 GT by 20% to 30%. With this performance rift alone, it is clear the GeForce 7900 GT is an undisputed winner. The Radeon X1800 XT with its higher price tag and better performance may pose some competition to the GeForce 7900 GT, but for the most part of it, we believe that the GeForce 7900 GT is a better all rounder in performance, noise/heat output, power consumed, footprint required and even price...
