Walton Chaintech, a company which manufactures lots of products like SSDs, Memory Modules, Memory Cards and Graphics Cards, does also produce Flash Drives. The AstroDrive 266X I have received for review is the smallest in the series, maroon colored. The flash drive has very good performances right out of the box, but Walton Chaintech also included a special utility on the drive to boost the performance even more.

DDR3 has been conquering the memory markets for a while now. Both AMD and Intel use it nowdays and prices have dropped to reasonable levels. We took two kits for our tests and will compare them with two other kits we had in stock. Both kits reviewed are not the cheapest available, but definitely not the most expensive ones either. Let's see how well they perform.

When we started working with Chaintech here at TweakTown, we were about 1-2 years into the life we now know as the hardware review industry. Chaintech jumped onboard as one of the hardware suppliers back then and their portfolio consisted only of motherboards. Not long into the relationship Chaintech started building graphics cards based on the Geforce 4 GPU and things started to expand from there. Today Chaintech no longer has motherboards on its list; this sector died out a number of years ago. The only thing remaining on their portfolio from the good old days is their graphics cards, which now include the GeForce 9 series. Chaintech decided to branch out into a more cut throat field, that being memory. Chaintech now produces a range of memory under its APOGEE name, the same name that was used for its top of the line motherboards. How times change.

Everyone recommends the GeForce 9600 GT first, and they should. It's got a price-to-performance ratio unlike any card before. I'm not exaggerating. This card could very well be the best deal NVIDIA has ever put to market. I spent a day with Chaintech's factory-overclocked card... And I found a couple things I didn't like. Deal breakers? Hardly.

Chaintech have really expanded from the line of graphics cards, now doing products like memory and flash products as well. What they no longer do however are motherboards. It wasn't all that long ago we were impressed with fancy cooling solutions and the general performance of Chaintech products. We'll have to see if the 9600GT is able to do anything for us. From first glance the Chaintech offering didn't do a lot for us, but upon throwing it in our system we where pleasantly surprised with what happened. Before we get into that though, let's find out what they've done with the package and have a closer look at the actual card.

Today we are going to take a look at memory modules by Chaintech. This company is well known to our readers as a manufacturer of graphics cards, and, in the past, motherboards. What we see is small, by modern standards, capacity of a mere 1 GB. However, it's still adequate for the users of middle-end systems not rushing to switch Vista and preferring Windows XP or Linux instead. Besides, the modules have reduced timings and a cooling system similar to Corsair's patented DHX.

Overall, the Chaintech MK8T890 isn't a bad board. For a product that fills the entry-level and OEM segment, the MK8T890 is actually a great little motherboard. Not only is it stable and reliable, Chaintech has managed to come up with a clean PCB design that system builders would probably give thanks for. With its small Micro ATX footprint, the MK8T890 will fit into non-obtrusive chassis designs with ease. However, neither Chaintech's bundle nor the MK8T890's onboard features is going to wow anyone anytime soon. Although we keep telling ourselves that it befits the board's low-end nature, its features are the absolute bare necessities any user should expect today...

The Chaintech AE6800 Apogee was clearly the outright winner in our benchmarks with a distinct advantage over both the reference GeForce 6800 and a GeForce 6600 GT. There is also no doubting its quality; the card was as silent as one could wish for and there were no heat issues here due to its Arctic Cooling enhanced cooler, even with its default higher than normal frequencies. Our overclocking trials were also equally positive, with results that came close to a GeForce 6800 GT. If all that was not persuasive enough, Chaintech dares you to say otherwise with a giant of a box filled with extras...

If you are looking for a motherboard for a socket 939 A64 CPU platform, chances are you are looking at the NF4 platform. Nvidia has pretty much taken the AMD 64 chipset market by storm since the itroduction of the NF3 motherboards, and they certainly have continued the success with the line-up of NF4 motherboards that are available. Every major motherboard manufacturer has at least one flavor of the NF4 chipset available, and several have many different variations available, from the basic board up to the fully packed SLI boards, Nvidia has proven to have the best platform available for s939 at this time.

The Chaintech Zenith VNF4 Ultra is one of the only real entry-level Athlon64 motherboards on the market, but despite its low price it performs very well. For about a hundred dollars, you get a very basic motherboard without a lot of goodies. Onboard there is a Gigabit NIC and 7.1-channel audio controller as well as three traditional PCI slots and two PCI Express x1 slots for expansion. Physically, the motherboard has been designed very well and everything is placed at or near its optimal location.

The Chaintech VNF4 Ultra was found to be an extremely stable motherboard at defualt clock speeds. When you consider price versus performance, this board is a perfect fit for those looking to get the most out of their money...
