?We are looking at a set of GeIL Black Dragon 6GB DDR3-2000 memory modules that look very unique from what we normally see, sporting no fancy heatspreaders. Going with a different approach, there is a black PCB design, gold printing, and red LEDs make these Black Dragons quite refreshing in a sea of clich?d products that want us to believe that sleek metal casings can justify the high price tags that accompany such things.

GeIL broke into the market with the Golden Dragon Series in the past and have now "resurrected" the dragon in form of the Black Dragon DDR2 line. The memory features a gorgeous looking PCB with a golden dragon head with bright red LEDs as the eyes. The entry level CL4 variant looks quite promising and performs just as well.

Well we all knew it would start happening sooner rather than later with the release of Vista. Matched 4GB Quad Kits. Grace takes a GEIL kit for a test drive today. This makes GEIL one of the first manufacturers to sell kits which can populate all of your motherboards DIMM banks and raise the total RAM capacity to 8GB. We have such a kit for review today, the GB6400C5QC.

Geil have been making waves in the memory market for years now and are looking to continue that trend with their latest and greatest modules, the ultra series. I have been lucky enough to receive a 1gb kit of 6400 memory from that very range. It boasts extremely tight timings and a wide range of safe voltage variation, lets see what these babies can do.

These RAMs are created thinking to aggressive overclock: they can work at 400-450Mhz with good timings, without needing excessive voltages. With low latencies they give their best.

So you think you have fast DDR2? Then you better check out the GeIL PC2-8000, which happens to be the fastest we've ever seen, and the benchmarks prove it! It's also probably the most expensive 'value' ram you will set your eyes on, but is it worth the cash for the ultimate performance?

Geil I have to say are not one the most known memory companies, they are not as well known as the likes of Corsair and Crucial. Never the less they have made a name for themselves with such products as the Geil One series, the only memory I have seen to hit CAS ratings of 1.5. Today we will be looking at the other end of the spectrum, their value series. This memory has gained a reputation with the overclocking community as being the same price range as Crucial's and Corsair's value range but is rumoured to be a lot more overclockable while maintaining nice timings. We will of course test these rumours to bring you the truth...

We all know GeIL as a popular memory modules (RAM) manufacturer. GeIL sent us a small amount of their copper thermal compound. This tiny niche market is being dominated by Arctic Silver. Many large manufacturers fail to create high quality thermal compounds that can deal with the latest Arctic Silver products. Today, we are putting the GeIL copper thermal compound face to face against one of the best thermal compound solutions in the market. You're right; it's the Arctic Silver 5. We are going to find out about it pretty soon...

GeIL is a modest manufacturer that was founded in 1997. They have made other memory manufacturers stand up and take notice, and have gained a lot of fame in a very short time. Those that may want to know, GeIL stands for Golden Emperor International Ltd. Today we have the chance to review some GeIL CAS 1.5 DDR memory. Memory that runs at this latency is rare and is not easy to find. This DDR can run at 250MHz at CAS 2 with nice tight 2-2-5 timings...

There is no doubt about it GeIL makes some awesome memory in general. The One W just adds to their list of incredible ram. The packaging and the timings that this ram is capable of is the first thing that would attractive the end user. But once it is placed in the system and the voltage is upped, you will realized that this ram is more than good looking heatsinks. Being able to run at DDR520 plus speeds is a delight within its self. Coupled with the right motherboard (yeah, the DFI NF4) these hand picked BH-5 chips are great performers...
