The Hypersonic Avenger AG2 notebook was just launched on May 22nd, 2008, but that doesn't mean we haven't had a sample for well over a month now. The Hypersonic Avenger AG2 notebook is the same thing as the Clevo M72R notebook, so Hypersonic was able to get a production sample in our hands before they officially started to carry this recently released 12.1" notebook. This gave us the chance to do a long term test drive, which is something we rarely get to do in the fast paced computer industry. For the past month we have used the Hypersonic Avenger AG2 as our traveling notebook...

Hypersonic's known for building performance PCs, so where did this sub-notebook come from? Don't worry, it packs a punch, with its 2.5GHz Intel CPU, 4GB of RAM and 200GB 7200RPM hard drive. After taking pricing and feature set into consideration, we have good reason to be impressed.

With the recent purchase of Hyper Sonic OCZ has added another company to their portfolio, further diversifying their product range. Hypersonic's AG2 Notebook, which we have on our testbench today has been engineered to be light weight and portable with less than 1.8 kg. The design also looks stunning with its a high quality, glossy paint.

Today we are checking out an awesome thin-and-light notebook form Hypersonic called the AG2. This little notebook has tons of performance and power tucked into a small, compact design. The weight for the Hypersonic AG2 of 4.14 pounds makes it very portable and if it was a few ounces lighter it would be a major force in the ultraportable category. Watching a movie on the glossy screen was fantastic. The colors are sharp and vivid and no ghosting or tearing of images was noticed. The same glossy screen can be a drawback in some environments though thanks to lots of glare.
