I'm not going to lie -- I'm a huge fan of plugging external peripherals into my laptop. Mock me all you want; but because nowadays laptops are so friendly with USB-mice (not so much PS/2 products), external speakers, mics, and even webcams, I feel obligated to take advantage. If you question my allegiance to external mice, I will proudly say that I have yet to use the touchpad at home, with the exception of the first time I set eyes on my Dell Inspiron 6400 to make sure it actually worked. In fact, there's a thin layer of dust collecting upon the keyboard and touchpad because of my external keyboard and mouse -- both of which I find to be more ergonomically-friendly. Why is it, then, that when we're on-the-go, our laptop coolers don't offer the support for our mice? I think it's a travesty that we are forced to use the touchpad and not a mouse -- especially if we brought one along for the purpose of using it. No worries though -- LapLogic took into consideration the mouse and conceived the W800 Aerogel Extreme. Using similar technology to the LapLogic G800 Aerogel Extreme, it's got an extra portion just for the mouse to rest on. Is it a step forward, or does it force you to take two steps back?

Today I'll be looking at a new introduction to the lapdesk market from LapLogic.com. Actually two new models with one being regular sized and one being the super-sized model. They're called the new AeroGel Extreme and AeroGel Extreme - Wide laptop desks. With so much competition out there, let's see what sets these new units apart from the pack.

If you've had a laptop, you've been there; half an hour of use leaves you with an uncomfortable burn, a couple of hours could leave you with a scorching mark. I won't deny that this problem has been overlooked -- but now has finally been taken seriously by the general public. Especially as of late, there has been much concern surrounding the region dubbed by Jonathan Kwan as the "male proprietary region" when using your laptop on your lap. After the studies brought to our attention that the heat from laptops do affect said region, we at APH Networks were panicking -- I mean, we are guys, and we are computer geeks. I was already planning on purchasing a laptop, but I realized that I would need a cooler of some sort as well, so I picked up the Thermaltake iXoft, which we had introduced earlier. However, today, we are taking a look at a product that doesn't aim to keep the laptop cool -- but rather, the user (Hey guys, you'll want to look at this). Differing from laptop coolers in that sense, let me introduce you to the LapLogic G800 Aerogel Extreme. Yeah yeah, it still uses chemistry knowledge -- but for a whole different purpose.
