"For this review I will be looking at a power supply from a company that must admit I am unfamiliar with and that company is Nesteq and the power supply under review is the Nesteq ASM Xzero 600w. The ASM Xzero 600w comes to us via our friends at Quiet PC so I have every faith that it is nothing but a very high quality item."

Today we are going to have a look at a product from Nesteq a German computer products designer, the ASM Xzero 500W power supply. What makes the Xzero unique is that although it has a cooling fan it only uses it when the internal temperature rises above a certain temperature, making it what we would call a semi-passive running unit. It also ships with a variety of distinct features which we will analyse thoroughly in our review today.

The price tag of the NesteQ ECS5001 comes in at around $115.00 which seems a little high given the wattage. It's right at about that mark where some users who aren't so worried about reliability will opt for a little bigger wattage PSU in another name. However, you're not going to find this sturdy a power supply for much less these days. Can I recommend the NesteQ ECS Series Power Supplies to anyone including the enthusiasts? Definitely! If your system requires more power or if you have a newer Quad Core Extreme and 8800s in SLI, you'll want to consider something more powerful like their ECS6001 or ECS7001. Otherwise, the ECS5001 won't disappoint any expectations. A big thanks to Acoustic PC for bringing us something surprisingly new.

The EECS (Enhanced Easy Connecting System) modular cables are definitely the unit's most unique design feature. Modular cables are nothing new, but the ability to customize the length, as well as what connectors are found on each cable, is definitely interesting. Installation was quick and cable management was about as easy and neat as possible.

Over the last few years, a lot more attention has been paid to power supplies, and their ever important role of giving our prized possessions the juice they need to run as pain free as possible. However, not only have companies been tempting our wallets with excellent rail stability and high efficiencies, they?ve also touted the low noise levels of their units. The PSU I have with me today sports a large, slow spinning fan and with near silence being one of it?s main features. I?ll be interested to see how much it can actually reduce my rig?s noise levels by.

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to build your own cable? A modular-designed power cable, that allows you to use only the connectors you need, in the order that you need them? Nesteq has answered that call with their ECS series of power supplies. Today we will be looking at the Nesteq ECS 7001, a modular 700 watter that allows you to do just this.

Today we will take a look at the ECS7001, a powerful 700W PSU featuring a patented cable connecting system. It may look like yet another modular PSU but unlike all other modular PSUs you don't have to connect each cable directly to the unit; you can connect each cable right where another cable ends. Interesting? We think so.

The NesteQ ECS 5001 500W PSU arrived Technic3D. See you in the following Review from Technic3D the next PSU with a very high efficiency. Make the Easy Connecting System for the cables and Smart Fan Controlling System this PSU better than other PSUs?

It's a great looking and innovative product with so much potential, that actually works silently rather than just claiming it on the packaging like so many others. But unfortunately there was a complete lacking in attention to detail: the PSU fails on half of its rails as soon as you hit full load and the cabling quality and connectors used are nothing special. At £130 including VAT, it is a lot of money to spend and if you're using it for a little case with reasonably low power components for a silent system, you'll likely get away with it. 3.3V and 5V are less important that 12V rails in a modern PC, but you're more likely to encounter stability issues if you use it with a higher specced PC. In all, good concept but could certainly do better.
