"Today we are reviewing the Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE scanner. It is a negative film and slide scanner. For you completely digital people out there I?ll explain: Film is an analog way of capturing an image. Instead of a digital sensor collecting photons there is a light sensitive emulsion onto which the light is shone. Then, through a chemical process, the film is developed to create the final image. From this image we can make prints. To get the image into the computer it has to be scanned. That?s what we have film scanners for. "

Photography is one of those hobbies and industries that have dramatically changed in the last 5 years. Most avid amateur photographers, including myself, used to shoot 35mm film. Now many of us only shoot digital. The days of 35mm gave me a stack of negatives, but I knew one day, there would be something to help me archive them into the digital age. plustek, a world leader and provider of imaging solution products, sent us the OpticFilm 7500 AI Slide and Negative scanner. The OpticFilm 7500 AI Slide and Negative scanner is deemed as one of their professional series negative scanners. It might be a bit overkill and over the top for the average consumer, but lets check it out and see what happens.

The Plustek Book Reader arrived Technic3D. The Plustek BookReader features highly accurate OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and auto document orientation. This combination guarantees correct output for TTS (Text to Speech). You only need to press one button, and the Plustek Book Reader will convert printed text into high quality speech with a lifelike voice. Technic3D will see that in the following Review!

In the past, scanners were big, bulky, and heavy. Having a flatbed scanner at your workstation meant that a significant portion of your desk would be taken up by it. Once, I hung a shelf over my desk to be used as a perch for my scanner. The problem was somewhat eliminated at the workstation by the "all in one" printer/scanner, since more space is taken up by a printer, but forget traveling with it. Today, I will be looking at Plustek's OpticSlim M12 sheetfed color scanner, one of several scanners in PlusTek's lineup. We'll see what kind of quality we can get from a scanner that will easily fit in a briefcase or backpack.

Plustek's OptiCard 820 is a relatively high-speed mobile colour scanner for scanning, storing and managing photos and business cards. It's not a solution for graphics enthusiasts, but the compact A6 device lets you scan images and then automatically organises them into the leading contact databases - ideal for mobile sales teams or club managers...
