I continue my journey through the offerings of Seventeam Electronics once more this week with my look at one of the first 1000W units on the market, the ST-1000E-AD. Silverstone fans will recognize this unit better as the basis of the original OP1000. Let's see how kind Father Time has been to this platform.

In December, we took a look at the flagship of the Seventeam Electronics fleet, the Thundering 1200W. Recently, the folks at Seventeam asked us to take a look at the modular version of this mammoth beast, the Hurricane 1200W. Join me on a tour through our torture park as I find out just what this massive unit is made of and if it performs any differently from its brother. Will the platform earn a recommendation this time around?

Even though power supplies from Seventeam aren't sold in the USA retail market, they are very popular in several other countries, due to its low cost. In fact, it seems that Seventeam is the OEM manufacturer for some other brands - we discovered that the external power supply series from XG/MGE, Magnum, is in fact Seventeam Fanless series. ST-420BKV is a 420 W power supply without PFC. Let's take an in-depth look on this power supply to check whether this unit is good or not and test it to see if it can really deliver its announced 420 W.
