In the past year numerous manufacturers have hopped onto the gaming peripheral bandwagon in an attempt to expand their businesses. Gaming mice have become incredibly fancy, with 6000DPI, 1200Hz polling rate, and anywhere from five to twenty buttons. As companies attempt to product differentiate, the visual design of gaming mice are becoming more exaggerated. Steelseries take a different approach this time for the minimalistic Kinzu optical mouse. Benchmark Reviews peaks under the covers of this ordinary looking mouse to see where it lies amidst the hundreds of gaming mice out on the market.

Steelseries sent us their Siberia headset Version 2. Quite some time ago we looked at their first version which ended up being one of the most comfortable headsets I have tested in my life. Will this V2 live up to the previous ones, and have they fixed some of the flaws that the reviewers have pointed out?

?SteelSeries have a established themselves a fine reputation as a solid producer of quality PC gaming peripherals, so as I review this mouse I have high hopes for a product which does exactly as it says it will at a high level. The Steelseries Kinzu optical mouse, described as being ?in a league of its own? with regards to reliability and stability, can be picked up for the relatively low price of £21.

"Steelseries produce a range of gaming gear from mice and mats to keyboards and clothing, providing a range of useful additions to gamers of all abilities. Among the plethora of toys from this Danish-born company is a selection of more than a dozen mousing pads. The mouse mat is an oft-forgot element of the gamer's apparel. Much attention is given to mice and high-resolution monitors, but people tend to forget about that extra layer in communication between man and machine. So we'll now take a look at the Steelseries 9HD Pro Gaming mouse mat, designed to meet the extra demands of precision gamers. "

SteelSeries' all new optical gaming mouse is put to the test. The Kinzu mouse features the latest generation optical sensor, but can it even begin to compete with the new generation of laser sensor powered mice? We put the mouse to the test and see how well it fair against more modern offerings.

"On the slab today we have some new and improved cans from SteelSeries with some interesting updates to a functional and already proven design.
Most notably, the updates include a microphone boom built into the headset and a USB soundcard module. Checking out the back of the pack, we can see that the frequency range is a wide band from 10 to 28,000Hz, which is more than adequate for gaming, movies and music on your computer."

"As I have used and reviewed several Steelseries products during the past few years, I have eagerly
awaited for some of their newly announced products to arrive to be tortured. One of these products is
the new 9HD gaming mousepad, which has many of the features which I've liked in their old S&S
mousepad."

In cooperation with professional gamer, Steelseries developed
the Ikari Laser Gaming Mouse. Low weight, a low center of gravity as
well as onboard memory should make the Ikari Laser a sure winner under
all the gaming peripherals available on the market these days.
Especially when playing First Person Shooter the Ikari Laser shall
score high.

SteelSeries was on hand at PAX 09 to show off their new gaming mice
, the Kinzu optical mouse
and Xai laser mouse. These mice are superior to the Ikari in some respects, but some users will still prefer the Ikari for its comfortable shape.
One of the biggest claims that mouse manufacturers have today is that their mice are ?completely driverless.? Steelseries makes this claim for the Ikari, and it is true, but you still can?t get full functionality of the mouse without installing the included software. The horizontal tracking, profile switching, and several other key features must be toggled using software.
These issues are resolved starting with the new mice from SteelSeries. The Kinzu optical and Xai laser have a smaller, ambidextrous form factor, but the electronics are greatly improved over the Ikari.

"SteelSeries are a very well established company intent on producing professional grade gaming gear for all skill levels. From its formation in 2001, SteelSeries have gone a long way and now produces a wide range of peripherals from mice, keyboards and headsets to mouse pads and now even special branded products.
The Siberia headset is just one of many that SteelSeries now include in their audio range. Boasting comfort, multi-functionality and a detachable mic, a great deal of thought appears to have gone into the design of the Siberia and from the looks of things it must have paid off as there are now several different versions of the Siberia to choose from.
We will be taking a closer look at the original; introducing the Siberia full-size headset. "
