Known for their very impressive cooling products, Tuniq some time ago set out to conquer the world of high wattage power supplies. Their first attempt is the Ripper. A very fitting name for a high-end power supply capable of supporting multi-GPU rigs often geared towards gamers. Beside high wattage numbers these rigs also requires high amps numbers on the 12 volt rails and the Ripper has that too totaling 100 amps across the four dedicated rails.

"In more basic terms, Tuniq is in the business of providing an attractive product that makes a statement. While an appealing cooler is good to have, it is only as good as the fan equipped with the cooler in most instances. Tuniq claims that the included fan is indeed a silent fan, and still boasts quite a bit of CFM to handle the job. In principle this is fine on paper, but to make it work in reality is another thing we have yet to see for ourselves. As I usually do, I like to look at the manufacturer?s website to do a bit of homework before I actually receive the product. Taking some time over on Tuniq?s website, I was intrigued by the unique design, fin layout, and how Tuniq uses the fan to remove the heat from the cooler. I am here to save you that time, so let?s get down to business as I share what I have found out thus far."

"Tuniq's Tower 120 Extreme is an enthusiast grade heatsink that cools very well, pretty quietly. In fact I'll save you the suspense and tell you straight up that it tops Frostytech's Intel reference chart and that it's one of the Top 5 best-ever heatsinks tested on Frostytech's AMD reference chart to date. And that's not comparing the Tower 120 Extreme against five... or even ten recent heatsinks... Frostytech.com compares it to well over 250 different heatsinks!"

"The Tuniq TX-3 thermal compound is an evolution of its popular predecessor, the TX-2, and promises peak cooling performance toward keeping your CPU cool under load. Let's take a look as we drop some onto a highly overclocked Core i7 monster and see if it can live up to those claims."

Tuniq has finally released the new and improved Tuniq Tower 120, the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. The coolers may share similar names, but the new extreme doesn't isn't just a younger brother. It sports a new style of aluminum fans, a wider base and a fan controller. It also looks as if Tuniq was aiming to satisfy the Intel Core i5/i7 owners. With this being said, lets take a closer look at the new cooler.

"Being an avid overclocker means hundreds of hours and many different methods of cooling will be implemented in the quest for a cooler processor. This involves experiments in thermal interface materials, application of said pastes, lapping, airflow, and most importantly coolers. CPU coolers come in many shapes and sizes, and more often than not, those shapes and sizes have a direct bearing on the cooler's ability to draw away and dissipate the heat created by energy lost in your processor. Today we get to test the newest offering for Tuniq: the Tower 120 Extreme."

?So it isn't often that we run across a radical departure from the radiator norm. Our friends at Sunbeamtech, in their Tuniq division, has done just that, created a 120mm tower cooler that looks like nothing we've seen, the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. Besides a unique radiator design, the five core-contact heatpipes have a different twist too. Even the fan is in an odd place for a square tower cooler. Will it cool the i7? Read on to see!"
