We are excited about the release of the forthcoming Assassin?s Creed II because although the original was a little repetitive we had a blast playing it, both on the Xbox 360 and then the PC - sales figures show that 35 million other people have enjoyed the game so we weren?t alone! Today we have a few videos to share with you (one from Comic Con) as well as some answers to a few questions courtesy of Patrice Desilets, the projects Creative Director.

Assassin's Creed could have been so much more: given better enemy AI, more variation in the missions and a more coherent storyline, this could have been a game that lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, what we have is a game with amazing graphics and not much else. The gameplay on its own isn't really that bad, but it's far from the hyped up genre defining spectacular we were all lead to expect. The brutal reality is that because the game tries to be a jack of all trades it ends up as a master of none. There are better stealth games out there and better platformers and better third-person shooters too. For plot, there are more convincing science fiction games and more interesting historical games.

For the first few hours it's unbelievable. For the next few hours it's getting tiresome. In subsequent hours it oscillates wildly between these two extremes. Buy Assassin's Creed as a work of magnificent ambition, but try not to get caught up in its faults.

It all started with RPGs. Sword wielding, dragon slaying dungeon crawlers where players got to save the land over and over again. Then with advances in technology these fantasy expeditions slowly crawled from underground to the vast expanses of the top-side world. With trends moving farther away from fantasy with each passing year it was only a matter of time before this free-roaming concept was taken to a new, more popular environment. The result? Grand Theft Auto was born! Freed from the shackles of earning experience and leveling up, the game became a smash hit. It seems however that things run in cycles here, so the latest GTA (San Andreas) had us earning experience again (in a way) and building up our character with various skills/statistics. Stick the thing into a medieval environment and you have a pretty natural follow up to the classic RPGs of decades past. And voila, this is exactly what Assassins Creed aims to do!

Unless you've been hiding in a cave or unless you're brand new to the world of video games you'll be better off with just about any other title. However, Driver - Parallel lines does offer 3 original things: 1 - a brand new game for $20, 2 - a game where cops enforce speed limits, traffic lights and driving on the wrong side of the street, 3 - a kick-ass mod shop for your rides (for the game's genre).

What's more, those other critics were right to praise Call of Juarez for its innovation. Too many shooters recently have been keen to plough the same furrow: take the classic Doom template, add squad-mates and vehicles, throw in a few Halo-style, set-piece battles and tart it up with the best visual effects money can buy. Call of Juarez takes a schizophrenic path less well travelled.

There's no doubt that GRAW2 looks eerily similar to GRAW1. I'm told that the engine has seen some enhancements, but the simple fact is that GRAW looked stunning a year ago and still looks stunning now, while GRAW2 looks the same with maybe a little, barely perceptible, extra gloss and detail.

Michel Ancel's creation earned his following as the star of 32-bit 2D platformers and Dreamcast-era 3D adventures, and the strengths of the Rayman games were always in the gorgeous hand-drawn backgrounds, the superb character design, tight, well-constructed levels and Rayman himself - a cheeky, limbless hero with more personality than the usual cutesy animal crowd. Rayman Raving Rabbids runs with these strengths, but now they're in the service of a series of arcade mini-games. The framing structure is minimal, and adventure elements are non-existent. Each level consists essentially of an arena, four mini-games and a final challenge. Complete three of the mini-games, tackle the challenge, and it's on to the next level. Nothing could be simpler.

Even if you haven't been a fan of Rainbow Six in the past, check out the next generation of the series. There's quite a bit to appeal to normal FPS fans, while still appealing to fans of the series. This game easily gets Gamepyre's Gold award, and is a must have for fans of shooters of all types.

It should have started with a bang. You're ready for the bright lights and the big city, for slot machines and neon glare, for spinning wheels and high-rolling glamour, and instead you?re dumped in a Mexican border town, playing a game that feels like a lifeless imitation of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. The graphics are patchy, with blazing sunlight and ragged stucco on the outside, boxy architecture and dull, bump-mapped textures on the inside.

Dark Messiah Might and Magic is not for everyone, but I had a lot of fun playing the game. The combination of the action adventure game ala Tomb Raider with RPG elements ala Might and Magic works for me. The game has a few "wow" moments like when you first fight the Cyclops one on one and figure out you aren't doing any damage with spells or weapons. Replay ability in the game is pretty good. You can play the game as a fighter, a mage an archer as your primary focus, and then replay the game using different skills. The game also has a couple of places where a choice can affect the outcome.
