XFX did a wonderful job with their nForce 630i and GeForce 7150 solution. The board has plenty of the features that you need to run the latest Intel CPUs and has integrated graphics that perform well for the Home Theater PC market. With a price point of $79, the board fits well into the mainstream Intel motherboard market The announcement of the 8200 integrated graphics chipset for the AMD Athlon market brings true DX10 hardware to NVIDIA motherboard chipsets but the corresponding Intel chipset has not been announced as of yet. To get excellent gaming performance the only real solution on the Intel platform is to buy a discrete graphics card and upgrade.

The tendency to increase the presence of models with the G92 chip on the market is quite logical in the chain of events. Although they are still outnumbered on the market, the new GeForce 8800GT and GTS cards are very good and asked for. As we couldn't find a single 8800GTS with 512 MB of VRAM so far, we decided to plunder a little, and dug out an XFX model.

Today is the launch of the NVIDIA 9600 GT. This is the latest mid-range video card from NVIDIA. We are looking here at the XFX 9600 GT video card that runs stock clock speeds. In the end I was impressed with the performance of the XFX 9600 GT given its stock clock speeds and low price. The XFX 9600 GT may well be the next big thing in affordable and attainable graphics performance from NVIDIA.

For many enthusiasts looking for a new GPU, it would seem best to wait for the 9 series which will be coming from nVidia over the next few months. However, what do you do if you happen to want something now, now, now? Well, the latest card from the green camp is the 8800GTS "refresh" with 512MB. Is it worth it's price tag? Let's find out.

We're writing to let you all know that we have just posted a new article at HotHardware in which we evaluate the features, performance, and overclockability of the XFX 8800 GT 256MB XXX Alpha Dog Edition. As is the case with XFX's other XXX Alpha Dog Edition cards, their 256MB GeForce 8800 GT offering ships from the factory with a significantly overclocked GPU and memory. Head on over to the site and check it out...

Another 780i board goes through the rigorous Overclock3D test suite, but does XFX's offering live up to the rest of the top end boards?

It may look better, but it also costs £20 more than an XFX nForce 680i SLI and we'd certainly be tempted to sit back and wait to see if the nForce 780i SLI suffers from the same significantly high number of board deaths that the nForce 680i SLI had - personally I'd choose a company with a good RMA service and warranty period, just to be safe. In that respect, XFX's two year warranty is clearly outshone by its American alternative, EVGA, which offers a fantastic and industry leading ten year warranty. The nForce 780i SLI suffers from stuff that just hasn't been updated; no solid aluminium capacitors, no re-FABed chipsets on a cooler process, no updated BIOS flashing utilities, no overclocking safe guards and not even a CMOS button. Even though the XFX nForce 780i SLI performs well, is stable and looks good, it just simply lacks in features I'd expect an enthusiast board to have. I can't help but want to look elsewhere to the Tier One manufacturers for a quiet solution that is better kitted out.

It seems that NVIDIA is bent on just taking over the entire VGA arena in both the high and low end market at the same time. This can be clearly seen with their recent release strategy, and ATI is an unloaded gun when it comes to sheer product awareness across the spectrum. XFX will most likely have a few different variations of this card available from standard clocked models and a few overclocked types as well. This card beats almost the rest of the NVIDIA lineup other than the Ultra and is a very solid gaming solution. Pricing however is much higher than the 256MB GT, which is around the $200.00 mark as this card sells for about $350.00 give or take a few bucks in either direction.

The XFX Fatal1ty series have recently not only been upgraded in the mainstream segment, since few weeks we have now Fatal1ty entry-level graphics cards. Aimed at the professional gaming market, could we have a Best Buy in our hands?

The NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI motherboard is an evolutionary advancement, not a revolutionary one. It adds features like support of 45nm Intel quad-core processors, which are not optional when you make a high end enthusiast board. NVIDIA is sure to sell many of these boards because they have an ace in their pocket that they love to have. That ace is 2-way and 3-way SLI and if you want to run SLI, then you have to run an NVIDIA chipset. When it comes to performance between the 680i and 780i our testing showed...

Today the XFX 8800 GTS 512MB XXX graphics card launches. This card has fantastic performance coming within a hair of the performance the NVIDIA 8800 Ultra is capable of. The new XFX 8800 GTS 512MB XXX has 128 stream processors and the core clock speed is 678MHz, with a memory clock of 1.972GHz and a shader clock of 1728MHz. The card is 9-inches long and requires one 6-pin power connector. Unlike the recently released 8800 GT, the XFX 8800 GTS 512MB XXX is a dual slot card. Outputs include a pair of dual-link DVI ports and HDTV out. The card uses 512MB of GDDR3 memory.

The original GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB and GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB video card configurations had 96 stream processors. The new 512MB configuration has 128 stream processors, support for PCI Express 2.0, dual-link HDCP support, and the second-generation PureVideo HD engine thanks to the updated core. The clock frequiences on the reference 512MB cards are 650MHz/1940MHz with a sharder clock of 1625MHz, but XFX overclocked their XXX edition up to 678MHz on the core, 1972MHz on the memory and 1700MHz for the shader clock for even more performance. The XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition that Legit Reviews is looking at today comes with the part number PV-T88G-YDD4...

XFX has done a wonderful job with their XXX Edition video card for the GeForce 8800 GT 256MB series. Their improved cooler is a nice touch that makes their GeForce 8800 GT video cards stand out from the rest. It's tough to make a video card stand our from the crowd, but XFX has been finding ways to make it happen. The bundle with the XFX GeForce 8800 GT 256MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition was solid and it was nice to see the game Lost Planet included with the bundle. The 650MHz core clock and 1.6GHz memory clocks on the XXX edition are nice as it's a card you can plug in and just run. Users don't have to download third party applications and/or flash the BIOS to overclock...
