ABIT Fatal1ty AN8's passes its biggest test, that is, being a supreme enthusiast-orientated S939 motherboard. What makes it so good is the sensible choice of a feature-rich chipset, nForce4 Ultra, and due care and attention that's given over to both frequency and fan-speed manipulation. These two factors combine to push the sample's stable HTT frequency to 320MHz - the highest yet seen at HEXUS. It's achieved without any additional cooling and it paves the way for the Fatal1ty AN8 to be paired with the best S939 overclocking CPUs available today, be they Venice or San Diego cores.

ABIT has taken VIA's K8T890 core-logic and engineered a stable, fast, and inexpensive motherboard that carries a reasonable feature-set. Presentation, as usual, is excellent, and enthusiast-orientated options are up to ABIT's usual standards. £79 buys you a decent introduction to S939, and performance, coupled with any compatible CPU, is always going to be impressive, especially so in gaming.

The RX600 is a decent card if you are in the market for a mainstream graphics solution (under $200). The ABIT RX600 is a card that allows the end user without much overclocking expierence to easily and safely overclock their card via the vGURU software. The performance from the X600 is not spectacular, but it was able to play DOOM 3, Half-Life 2, Far Cry and other current game titles with ease at moderate resolutions. If you are looking to build up a budget gaming system that has some unique features for bragging rights then the ABIT RX600 with vGURU should fit the bill.

This is the most overclockable Intel P4 board that money can buy to date. Finally, here's an extreme board that can go the distance as long as you have the right components to go with it. We've never seen any board that can overclock like this out of the box and with such ease. It was fun seeing the board taking the FSBs everytime we increased it. When we hit the 300MHz FSB mark, that's when we decided that what we have here is an exceptional board. And of course, the FSBs didn't stop there. It just went higher and higher. No doubt, an overclocker's dream.
