The G9 mouse from Logitech is by no means the most affordable mouse; in fact the Microsoft sidewinder offers a similar feature set for a bit less. That said when it comes to features the G9 goes above and beyond in several areas. It offers higher resolution optics, finer weight adjustments (4 grams vs. Microsoft's 5 grams), adjustable grips for greater comfort, and the unique profiling software with onboard storage means you create your settings once and then you can take them anywhere your mouse goes. The crazy durability ratings are a plus but honestly I wouldn't expect anyone to be using a mouse beyond a year or two at most, so if anything that great durability means that this mouse will undoubtedly be a great hand me down when you go out and get Logitech's next great mouse in 2010.

Logitech has recently announced a new product in its line of gaming mice. According to the odd numbering tradition, it has been named G9. The well-balanced design is coupled with several engineering, technical, and design innovations. Let's review them one by one.

While Logitech is no slouch when it comes to mice, (they've been making mice for over 20 years) they have been facing increasing competition from other manufacturers who also have mice heavily marketed towards gamers. With the market awash in so many gaming mice, each seemingly offering the same features such as extra buttons, adjustable DPI and accurate laser tracking, Logitech decided to go back to the drawing board and come up with something that would stand out in the crowd. The result was the G9, the successor to the G5 and G7 mice.

If gaming is your thing and the PC is your king then the Logitech G9 is your one stop destination for gaming domination. It's well designed, well featured and incredibly versatile and as such comes highly recommended.

It seems just like yesterday when Logitech released the updated flagship G5 laser mouse. The company flagship mouse seems to be short lived, however -- being available in the market for more than a couple months is Logitech's new flagship mouse for computer enthusiasts, the Logitech G9 -- in which can be considered quite a unique and different offering from Logitech's flagship product in its category. Almost all flagship enthusiast Logitech mice for the past few generations uses the shell first implemented with the MX500 -- it continued onto the MX510, MX518, G5, and finally, the G5 V2. The G9, on the other hand, follows none of the previous tradition as a radically new shell is developed along with a unique placement of buttons as well as the famous free-spin wheel first introduced in the Logitech MX Revolution and Logitech VX Revolution. What it really reminds me of is the car enthusiast's long awaited Pontiac G8 on a RWD platform for a full sized sedan at a relatively reasonable price. As juxtaposed to the Logitech G9, is this change a practical improvement over previous mice from the company, or a negative impact among its users? Let's investigate into this as we go over the Logitech G9 today.

Logitech goes all out with their latest gaming mouse - the G9. While it may look very futuristic, the shape is perfect for right handed gamers. The G9 can be customized in almost every aspect, from weight to size and feel over to all the DPI settings and button assignments. This makes the device the perfect weapon of choice, no matter what type of gamer you are.

High definition is the motto of today's electronics. Everything has got to be high def: from your home theater's TV to the LCD monitor hooked to your PC to - who knew? - the mouse you’re using right now. The newest gaming mouse from Logitech, the G9 model, reaches an impressive resolution of 3,200 dpi, breaking the 2,000 dpi barrier of his G5 precursor and similar models in the market. It also incorporates the highly praised scroll wheel from Logitech's VX Revolution line. With two different interchangeable grips the mouse is just as useful for gaming as for regular desktop use.

Since Logitech never stands idle in the fast paced computer peripheral market, they have redesigned their gaming edition of mice. The G9 is a definite step in a different direction compared to the previous top of the line model, the G7. It is now a corded mouse and incorporates features that are present on the MX Revolution and from the G5. While the cord can be a burden, the entire mouse is a great evolutionary step.

In many ways, a well-tuned and versatile mouse can be as important as a display with accurate color reproduction. That's what the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse is about.

Ever since I first laid my hand on the funny pointing device attached to the Apple Mac back in the forth grade, I felt that computers would always seem to be approachable. I think that most of us probably started this way, and eventually learned our way around the rest of the landscape. Times have changed, and now many of us require, nay demand, something more from our peripheral hardware than simple functions. The Logitech G9 3200 dpi Laser USB Gaming Mouse 910-000173 has arrived on the scene and Benchmark Reviews is ready to point and click... boom, head-shot!

It's like a media circus whenever Logitech releases any new input devices. The reputation that Logitech has when it comes to mice and keyboards is second to none. Take a look at the G5, one of the most desired mice around. It had razor fast response and good looks. And when we speak of keyboards, chances are you have heard or even own a G11/G15 keyboard. For an avid gamer this keyboard has all the features necessary to beat any first person shooter, let alone using the macro keys in games . The LCD screen, weapon shortcuts and media controls, this keyboard basically has it all. But not to sit back and rely on the success of the two year old G5, Logitech has graced us with a new gaming mouse entitled the G9. The G9 promises to upstage the G5 and any other competitors' offering. They plan on doing this with an extra feature rich apparatus which includes changeable grips, higher DPI and other features that is needed to continue your success in dominating the latest game.
