High Performance Group, most commonly referred to as Hiper, is a newly found UK based company which has became well known for their high performance power supply units. Hiper acquired most of their fame for the Type-R series which was released a few years ago. The Type-R series were high performance modular units but a lot of attention was given on their aesthetics factor. Today we will take a look at another approach from Hiper, the Type-M series. The Type-M series are not modular and look quite simple, but they are considerably cheaper than the Type-R series and apparently perform just as well or even better. We will soon see if they are worth your time and money.

Since the nForce 680i LT SLI release, you have to have something pretty damn special from a full fat nForce 680i SLI motherboard to justify the cost and Foxconn just doesn't quite have it here. It does have a very stable motherboard which is a somewhat rare commodity these days, but from an enthusiast chipset, Foxconn is only half way there supplying enthusiast performance but not enthusiast overclocking.

You can now pick up an upscaling DVD deck for peanuts, even ones from big name brands as this £60 player from Toshiba demonstrates. The SD-370E boasts upscaling to 720p and 1080i (but not 1080p, which would have been remarkable for the money) and also boasts DivX playback, including v6 and video-on-demand (with a registration code).

These days flash drives are pretty mainstream. One flash drive can easily be used thousands of times and they are more convenient than other portable storage media like DVDs. Almost every PC out there, unless it's one from the Stone Age, will be able to send data to your USB memory stick and to do that you don't need to install any software at all. USB sticks are very easy to use, very portable, most models are pretty fast and they offer lots of storage room. Today I'm taking a closer look at the Kingston DataTraveler ReadyFlash. This is a fairly new USB 2.0 drive which is optimized to take full advantage of Windows Vista's new ReadyBoost feature.

While the X1900XTX is not new it still offers excellent bang for buck. ATi released this card to beat the 7800GTX but it ended up being stronger than the 7900GTX as well in my opinion, Let us see if it is all it is promising or is it worth saving that extra quid/buck to get a next Gen card.

Right after the Internet was set abuzz with news that the new ATI Radeon HD X2000 series of graphics cards will be launched on May 14th, NVIDIA launches a preemptive strike by launching a new flagship card, the GeForce 8800 Ultra. Designed to replace the GeForce 8800 GTX as the new top-end graphics card from NVIDIA, the GeForce 8800 Ultra seems destined to be the card that kills the ATI Radeon HD X2900 before it is even released. However, the picture isn't as rosy as it seems. Read on and find out why the new NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra will not be a card we have all been waiting for.

There are myriads of digital audio players out there. The Speed MV-8 is one of them and tries to compete with small size, broad feature offering and high quality implementation. The case of this DAP is made from metal and immediately reminded me on a Zippo lighter. The shape is also similar. Only the 2 inch color TFT screen with 65k colors and the buttons give the Speed MV-8 away.

In the best traditions of upsetting the competitor, NVIDIA launches a faster-clocked GeForce 8800 to counteract any performance announcements for AMD's R600.

The GeForce 8800 Ultra takes the world's fastest GPU and pushes it further: with a core clock of 612 MHz, a shader clock of 1500MHz and a memory clock of 1080MHz. The GeForce 8800 Ultra costs 36% more and has a performance improvement of 10.7% over the GeForce 8800 GTX. Will consumers cough up 36% more for something ~11% faster? Only time will tell and since NVIDIA has a product that can't be beat by anything that ATI has on the market they have the ability to keep pushing prices up.

Damn man! OCZ is at it again with some new memory and a new style of cooling. For those who need a refresher course on OCZ ram cooling, first they hit us with the XTC heat spreaders and then out of nowhere came the FlexXLC. All great memory that added some style and finesse, along with advanced cooling to ram modules. But just when you figure they could not add another twist to their lineup OCZ presents us with the Reaper HPC lineup. The specs of the new memory are PC2-8500 with 5-5-5-15. Is this new memory in your future? Well, for about $300 it could be. But read the article and see if it is worth it.

Arctic cooling produces some of the worlds better heatsinks and their products can be found in many an enthusiasts humming rig. However heatsinks are not the only product they focus on, they also put a lot of R n 'D into their fans. Today I have two of them, their 120mm and 90mm PWM Arctic Fans; lets see how they perform.

The brushed aluminum front panel gives it a stylish and pleasing look. The E-Torque offers more than acceptable cooling utilizing two 120MM fans and the CPU duct / VGA vents. It also gives the user the 100% tool-less design, which makes installation a breeze.
