Many laptop users complain about heat issues. This is expected as there are so many components crammed into a tiny space. Cooler Master's new NotePal P1 tries to alleviate that issue, and succeeds. Not only does it cool my laptop down, it raises it slightly when used on a desk. This allows me to type in a more ergonomically sound fashion and improves my posture. Also, unlike some other notebook coolers that my friends own, you don't have to connect it to an external power source; it runs off your laptop's USB and yet, you don't lose a port because the NotePal P1 actually has two USB ports: one to power itself and one for your use.

Almost all notebook coolers are the same or have the same design. The basic design that we have seen on them works, but is there a better design? Well we will see today if there is. The Cooler Master NotePal P1 has a stylish ergonomic design unlike other notebook coolers out there. It is very lightweight and has an extra USB port so let's see if it can get the job done.

However, as amusing as the story is, there is a lesson to learn from it - notebooks get warm. In fact, the very fact that they get called notebooks instead of laptops, is so that aren't advertised as being safe or capable of being used on a lap. With desktop replacement lap-, err, I mean notebooks, this heat is especially noticeable, but even on the incredibly cool running Core Solo and Core Duo notebooks, they can still get a little toasty.
