This time we have another updated case from Antec in our hands. The Fusion cases are part of Antec's Veris family
and they are designed for HTPC use. They have the looks but are they up to the task?

All in all this is a very smart little case, the lack of fan in the hard drive chamber did have me concerned that the drives would run too hot, but while they were a little warmer than with active cooling it was nothing to be alarmed about. Also excess heat is able to escape through the vents at the bottom of this chamber.

The Antec Fusion Media Center Case is definitely nothing like the early cases from Antec (back when "the average PC had less memory than today's cellphones"), and is quite different from many cases on the market today. This HTPC case has a refined style and high end features that have me anxious to dive into this review.

The Antec Fusion is a fully featured HTPC case that includes a 430W power supply. The case looks more like an A/V receiver than a case. This fact makes it by far the best fitting HTPC we had the pleasure of testing so far. It completely blends in with the big volume knob, VFD and beautiful white LED. But not only the outsides of the case are unique, the inside is divided in compartments for the mainboard, power supply and hard drives. We fill the case with hardware and take a close look at all the features, hoping it delivers more than just beautiful looks at a great price point.

A few years back when mobile phones really had become commodity items I started asking a question that seemed mind numbingly obvious - why can't I have a phone that uses a mobile network when I'm out and about, but functions as a landline phone when I'm at home? Unfortunately that question went unanswered, no matter how many network operators I talked to, or landline providers I quizzed. But as Dylan once said, the times they area-changin'...
