In a war that has spanned over decades which has caused tension between the enthusiast and the noob, we all ask what's better; more memory or more speed. Palit continue to expand the "Super" and "Sonic" line up with each new release from AMD. The latest participants to the epic battle is the HD 2600 XT, coming standard with 256MB of GDDR3 memory Palit have taken it upon themselves to offer three models. There's the standard model which we don't really care about, because everyone knows that standard is boring. We then have the Sonic which is an overclocked 256MB GDDR3 card, and in the other corner we have the Super which comes in at stock clocks but carries with it 512MB of GDDR3 memory.

PowerColor, unleash the gaming power. No so long ago AMD released the Radeon HD 2900 series and along with that introduction came as well the low-end and mid-range products to go up against NVIDIA. Well, now that we are a couple of months further the Radeon HD 2600 series are finally available. These cards are focused towards the mid-range graphics card market, and offer some extra choice to any potential buyers. These Radeon HD 2600 series have to take it up against the GeForce 8600 series, which have earned already their place on the mid-range segment. And this is exactly where the Radeon HD 2600 series come into the picture.

Most of potential customers are faced with simple question "Which graphics card to buy for 100EUR and get reasonable gaming performance?". While 100EUR doesn't seem to be enough for most of today's graphics cards, we've decided to test PowerColor's HD 2600 XT 256MB GDDR3 and see if it's possible to get decent frame rate in popular games. With overclocked C2D E6300 processor, we managed to get surprisingly good frame rate in most of games we've played with PowerColor's card.
