Usually the primary criteria when shopping for cases are the exterior design, thermal and acoustic performance and the number of features. A good case usually is a balanced combination of those criteria; a case without fans would be very silent but the thermal performance would be awful, while a case with extremely fast fans would offer extremely good thermal performance but the noise would make it intolerable for many people. With those criteria in mind NZXT designed the Hush, a case which can offer proper cooling and good looks but at the same time be entirely silent and comes at an affordable price. Perhaps one of the most balanced quality cases ever designed? We will soon find out.

NZXT are a reasonably young company (founded in 2004) that target their cases directly at the gaming population. With their Lexa case design turning heads on the review market a while back, I have the Hush which is NZXT's attempt at preventing case noise from ruining your fragging experience. Let's see how well it performs?

NZXT has become the new word for "sexy". This is my third case I have received from them and each time the styling gets better and better! This particular model is black with blue lighting in the front which makes for a nice contrast. The case is also available with a silver finish for those who are not into black. The front of the case is made of plastic but NZXT gave it the look of brushed aluminum which is very nice. The sides of the case, as well as the chassis, are made of a thin, sturdy steel. Overall the case is fairly lightweight and is easy to move around. The Front Blue led is securely mounted inside the door; if you give your case some loving abuse, you don't have to worry about this case falling apart.

The Hush has some of that elegance the Lexa had, but at the same time it has a little space-age design in it as well. The thing that the Hush has over the Lexa and all the other cases from NZXT is that it is aimed at the silent PC crowd. Granted this is obviously where it gets its name from. With silence as one of the main features of this case a few other things one would look for would be pricing, size and manageability. And the Hush has all of this and more. Now that I have talked up the Hush lets move on to the review and some pictures.

NZXT wowed ThinkComputers with its top-of-the-line "Adamas" aluminum chassis last November, earning an Editor's Choice Award. NZXT's newest offering is the HUSH, a chassis which the Taiwanese manufacturer says is silent but still offers premium airflow at a very affordable price. The NZXT Hush is the newest case in their line-up. The name is also the main feature of this enclosure, as the interior is covered by noise reducing dampening foam. This includes the bottom, sides, front and top of the case. While the interior layout is not very unique, but the screwless design is a great addition and works well. As we are used to from NZXT the exterior design looks great, especially with the blue LED fan and lighting in the door.
