I do a lot of case reviews as the junior reviewer at Pro-Clockers. It doesn't bother me, because I've got a case fetish of sorts. In its own twisted way it works out fine for everyone involved. Over the years, I've owned big cases, small cases, weird cases and modded cases. To be honest, I change cases more than some men change shirts. The last few years, I settled in with the Antec Sonata II. It's a great case and did what I needed it to do. However, I changed it for the Aerocool AE Plus last month. Always a sucker for big fans, the Aerocool drew me in. After trying out the Sunbeamtech Quarterback, I switched again. My main rig is now happily housed in the slightly odd, yet highly functional Quarterback. Read on to see why I changed cases.

Sunbeamtech is one of the many manufacturers that regularly releases new cases to keep up with a rapidly changing market. One of their latest models, the Quarterback, is an ATX midtower style case that includes many of the features that computer enthusiasts want, while also including a few unique touches.

The Sunbeam Quarterback is a midtower ATX case with tool-less drive bays and PCI slots, Core Fan system, VGA vent and a side window. The front bezel adds a door that makes the case look as muscular as a quarterback, which definitely adds to its style.

The interior of the case looks pretty standard, except for the vertical bar that goes in the middle of the case which suspends two 120mm fans. Under the floppy cage there is room for another 120mm fan; just in case four fans are not enough cooling. The Quarterback utilizes a screw-less design which allows you to install optical drives, hard drives, and PCI cards without the need for a screwdriver. One big feature that the case is lacking is a removable motherboard tray; however, the tool-less installation makes up for it a bit I think.

The Quaterback from Sunbeamtech is an affordable midi tower which comes with three silent 120mm fans and several plug and play installation features. We take a closer look and do performance tests to see how cool and quiet this case can be.
