There's a lot to like about the 245T including its static image quality, viewing angles and contrast performance. But at this price point, something close to perfection is to be excepted. At £600+ any major flaws are simply unacceptable and the fact that the 245T actually has two - moderate input lag and occasionally serious inverse ghosting - might seem pretty shocking. However, these problems are related to the PVA panel technology that dominates the high end 24-inch monitor scene at the moment. More precisely, they appear when pixel overdrive techniques are used to speed up the extremely slow response. In other words, they are hard to avoid on PVA monitors.

Overall the 245T brings much more to the table than any standard computer monitor on the market and this is directly apparent in its premium price. With industry leading color reproduction, excellent contrast and clarity to take advantage of with a literally a buffet of video connections, the 245T would be best described as swiss army monitor option in the 24" monitor market.

There's little denying the quality of the Samsung 245T. It's incredibly versatile with plenty of connectivity, adjustment and a simple and attractive design. Add in the 97 per cent colour gamut and 1:1 pixel mapping at 1080p and you have a recipe for greatness. However, the Motion Picture Acceleration mode is disappointing, while the slightly uneven backlight is a cause for concern. As such, at this time the price needs to come down a fair amount before we can recommend it wholeheartedly.
