Sony Ericsson has become a stronger and better competitor in the mobile phone industry over the past few years, releasing more feature-rich phones that are making the company well known. Their w800i Walkman phone is no exception. It is a stunning piece of gadgetry that runs with a pretty high price tag, around $450 for an unlocked version of the phone. It's well worth it though, as the Sony Ericsson w800i will replace your digital camera for most occasions, grind your iPod use to a halt, and will even get you back into mobile gaming...

First things first, the latest spawn from Sony Ericsson is not going to be affordable by everyone. At a suggested standalone retail price of US$590, the W800i is just a whisker off the price commanded by the O2 XDA II mini Pocket PC Phone, which is a little steep by any measure. For the price that Sony Ericsson is asking for their first ever Walkman mobile phone, consumers would have to give some serious thoughts on whether or not the W800i (essentially just a basic mobile phone with the Walkman endorsed application and a 2.0-megapixel digital camera), is a more worthwhile proposition than the O2 XDA II mini, which apart from having just a VGA digital camera, has much more functions to bring to the table...
