The router is an imposing slab of silver plastic which provides the obligatory quad of switched Fast Ethernet ports along with an integral ADSL2+ modem. USR has never been tempted to play with MIMO so the wireless access point is endowed with a single aerial, whilst a USB port is provided for sharing a printer over the network.

USRobotics' MAXg Wireless ADSL2+ Networking Kit (£43.49 ex. VAT) includes everything you need to connect to and share your ADSL Internet service in your small office. It also brings the benefits of high-performance wireless networking to your business. The Wireless MAXg ADSL2+ Gateway integrates the company's latest ADSL and MAXg wireless technologies for a 'complete' small-business broadband network. MAXg technology delivers a claimed 50% range improvement over standard 802.11g and provides wireless speeds of up to 125Mbps, although actual performance will vary depending on operating environment and distance between networked devices. In reality, you should expect little more than a 15% increase, which is still good.
