ASRock brings another cost/performance motherboard into the market with CrossFire capabilities. The 775XFire-eSATA2 is not the fastest motherboard, nor is it expected to be. However, as far as mainstream goes, a new chipset and CrossFire on the cheap is the right combination...

The ASRock 939NF4G-SATA2 is a microATX form factor motherboard that is well suited for compact mini-tower desktop computer chassis. The board measures 24cm x 22cm in size, and mounts with six screws. ASRock include only the basic cables necessary to install a pair of IDE devices, a SATA hard drive perhaps, and take advantage of the COM port. ASRock's claim to fame is a budget motherboard that is based on the matured Intel 915P Express chipset, but is able to work with ATI CrossFire technology right out of the box. With stable performance, decent CrossFire gains and a low price, this board is worth a look or two...

The ASRock 939Dual-SATA 2 motherboard is a socket 939 AMD Athlon64 solution which incorporates a special slot for a daughter card that will in the near future support the upcoming Socket M2 AMD Athlon64 processor and its allotment of DDR-2 memory. Both the Socket M2 AMD processor and the necessary ASRock daughter card are not currently available, but the CPU is expected in Q2 of 2006 so the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 is certainly forward-looking. ASRock takes the worry out of things with its new 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard. ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 has a decent set of features supporting the 939 pin based Athlon64/Dual Core CPUs with dual channel memory controller as well as most of the new technologies like SATA/SATA2 and USB 2.0. You also get 7.1 channel audio and a 10/100 Network interface which is fine. Of course, the biggest feature of this board is support for AGP 8X and PCI-E x16 cards that can be utilized independent of each other or simultaneously...
